A Priest's Homily

Author: Macky del Rosario / Labels: , ,

This bright Sunday morning, like nearly any other, we went to hear Mass. During the Homily of the priest, I was struck with something the priest said. It went something like this:

"If you love someone, a friend, a student, a child, a parent, a co-worker, then that means you want that person to be a better person."

Not only that, I was also hit when the priest said,

"Jesus wasn't nailed on the cross by the sins of the world. Jesus was nailed on the cross because he so loved the world."

Right now, I'm feeling that those could be points for reflections when we look at our lives. Do we love the people we consider we love right now because we want them to be better? Or is it because we just want the benefits that come by loving them?
